My research career has been shaped, as often, by encounters and lies, as many, on shoulders of giants. I got interested in Artificial Photosynthesis after a stay in the lab of James Collman and mindful discussions with Jean Jacques Girerd et Bill Rutherford. That was first a lab curiosity to mimic the process that has permitted oxygenic life to develop on earth, is now recognised as the solution for our energy crisis and environmental constraints. In collaboration with W. Leibl at CEA Saclay, I am embarked in this scientific odyssey. We develop molecular chemistry to capture solar energy to perform multielectonic catalytic chemical transformations. We welcome students who are devoted to organic and inorganic syntheses, spectroscopies, photophysical and electrochemical studies and theoretical calculations.
