Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d'Orsay

Institute is composed of nine research groups scientifically and financially independent and a team made up of Common Services and General Administrative Services and a technical platform. Activities of Scientific Research Teams range from organic chemistry to the chemistry of materials.

Research groups

Synhtèse Organique et Méthodologie (LSOM)

Logo du LSOMThemes : The disciplinary strengths developed by the team for several years on the amino acids and peptides, photochemical synthesis, chemistry of silicon, creating cyclic skeletons.

Responsible : Prof. David Aitken

Chimie des Procédés et Substances Naturelles (LCPSN)

Themes : Organic synthesis in two main areas: organic synthesis in a non-conventional (green chemistry) and the total synthesis of natural substances. Most of the tools of modern organic synthesis are developed in the laboratory: ionic liquid, organometallic, auxiliaries and chiral catalysts, microwave synthesis, and illustrated by the total synthesis of natural biologically active substances.

Responsible : Prof. Cyrille Kouklovsky

Catalyse Moléculaire (LCM)

Themes : Develop enantiopure organic molecules, promote the use of lanthanides in organic synthesis and enantioselective catalysis, synthesis of new ligands of organometallic complexes and their evaluation in enantioselective catalysis, synthesis of peptidomimetics, studies of interactions between chiral molecules by near-field microscopy and electrochemistry.

Responsible : Dr. Emmanuelle Schulz

Chimie Bioorganique et Bioinorganique (LCBB)

Themes :The laboratory is located at the interface between chemistry and biology. Interactions intra-and intermolecular (substrate biomolecule-substrate-synthetic compound, or metal-cofactor protein) that underlie the scientific approach of the laboratory in areas related to the reactivity, reaction mechanisms and the phenomenon of molecular recognition.

Responsible : Prof. Michel Thérisod

Glycochimie Moléculaire et Macromoléculaire (LG2M)

Themes : The major objective of the work responds to a desire to identify effective methods for the construction of chemical tools useful both in basic and applied glycobiology: field of human health, agro-biological and bio-technology field.

Responsible : Prof. David Bonnaffé

RMN en Milieu Orienté (LRMN)

Themes : The common denominator in all subjects developed in the team is the use of NMR for the study of anisotropic media, or to the physico-chemical materials themselves, or to obtain new structural information used by chemists.

Responsible : Prof. Denis Merlet

Chimie Inorganique (LCI)

logo LCIThemes : Switchable multifunctional hybrid materials, nano magnetic photochromism and photo modular system, to the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen, iron complexes, biomimetic oxidation catalysts

Responsible : Prof. Talal Mallah

Etude des Matériaux Hors Equilibre (LEMHE)

Logo du LEMHEThemes : The LEMHE interested in the development, characterization and properties of materials based oxide, the bulk material (3D) nanostructured materials in 3D and 2D (thin film) could have applications in the areas of microelectronics, optoelectronics, barriers, nuclear, membrane ... coupled with modeling and simulations at different scales.
