- Main Research Topics in ICMMO/LEMHE – Associated Research Institute with CNRS (national scientific research center) ( )
With more then 120 papers in international journals, 85 contributions in conferences, direction or co-direction of 14 Ph.D thesis, participation of 12 another Ph.D thesis with commun publications and direction of 22 Masters thesis, the main scientific research themes are

  1. Methodology development of X-ray diffraction residual stress analysis in heterogeneous materials (materials with properties gradient, multiphase materials, thin films, multicrystals etc…);
  2. Study of relationship between microstructure evolution, material processing and internal stress (surface modifications, thin films and coatings, surface treatments etc…) by experimentation and by numerical simulation
  3. Oxidation kinetics, diffusion mechanism and associated internal stress effects (growth, thermal and residual stress) of alloys and metals at high temperature under dry air and water vapour

All the research works are realized in collaboration with different academic or industrial partners in France, in Europe and in Asia (China and Japan)

With about 150K€ annual contracts at Institute ARTS (Association pour la Recherche Technologique et Scientifique), industrial collaborations with different activities (aeronautics, space, transport, mechanical construction, metallurgy)

  • Residual stress analysis by X-ray diffraction (XRD)
  • Surface modification by coating and thin films for mechanical applications
  • Microstructure analysis by optic microscope, SEM, SEM-FEG
  • Strain and stress analysis of oxide scales growth by In-situ deflexion measurement
  • Oxidation kinetic study by thermogravimetry analysis (TGA)
  • Mechanical tests (monotone, cyclic, static, dynamic)
  • Heat treatments of metallic alloys
