Jean Ollivier obtained his Ph.D. degree in 1982 at the University of Paris-Sud (ORSAY) under the direction of Dr. J. Salaün, then joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS). In 1986 he obtained a Doctorat-ès-Sciences degree in Organic Chemistry. He then spent a year (1987) on a post-doctoral fellowship at the Dyson Perrins Laboratory in Oxford with Dr. Steven Davies, then returned to Orsay and collaborated again with J. Salaün. His research interests include the preparation, chemistry and applications of small-ring compounds implicating stereo- and enantio-selective reactions. He is presently « chargé de recherches » in the CNRS at the « Institut de Chimie Moléculaire et des Matériaux d’Orsay (ICMMO) of the University of Paris-Sud.
