Isabelle Billault obtained her Ph.D in organic synthesis at the University of Paris-Sud in 1997 by working on synthesis of new glucosidases inhibitors under the supervision of Prof. A. Lubineau. After a post-doctoral fellowship on the synthesis of potential glucosyl-transferases inhibitors in the group of Prof. A. Vasella at ETH of Zürich, she was recruited as junior lecturer at the University of Nantes in 1998, then as associate professor in the same University (laboratory CEISAM).  At that time, her research was directly connected to analytical chemistry with the development of analytical methods for the determination of isotopic ratio of deuterium at natural abundance level on different metabolites by deuterium NMR spectroscopy. She obtained her “Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches” in 2005. Since 2009, she’s working with Prof. M.-C. Scherrmann in the University of Paris-Sud. Her recent works are related to green chemistry with for example the use of alternatives media in synthesis, the heterogeneous asymmetric organocatalysis and the continuous flow chemistry.
